The Law Department of the University of Florence organizes on this coming Friday (October 28, 2016) a full day conference dedicated to new instruments to promote the correct application of the European Union Charter of Fundamental Rights (original Italian title: “Nuovi strumenti per promuovere la corretta applicazione della Carta dei diritti fondamentali dell’Unione Europea”).

The event will be divided into four sessions in which the following themes will be discussed and refined:

  • The “CharterClick!” project and the instruments developed in its realization;
  • The application of the Charter at national level: an overview of the best practices collected within the project;
  • The application of the Charter and tools developed within the “CharterClick!” project: the point of view of the European institutions;
  • The application of the Charter and tools developed within the “CharterClick!” project: the point of view of judges and national law sector operators.

The conference will also be the chance for two round table discussions where all the important speakers will exchange their views on key issues of the day.

The Scientific Committee of the conference includes prestigious personalities like Adelina Adinolfi (University of Florence, the project coordinator), Maria Bergström (Uppsala University), Deirdre Curtin (European University Institute), Francesca Ippolito (University of Cagliari), Nicole Lazzerini (University of Parma, Project Manager), Sebastien Platon (University of Bordeaux), Daniel Thym (University of Konstanz), Katja Ziegler (University of Leicester).
